January Stamp Camp Projects

This card was made using the January stamp of the month, Little Reminders. This card was inspired by Tamytha Jenkins. You can see her card here.

Here is a close-up of the shaker portion of the rattle. I used a treat cup from SU! for this project. As I was trying to make the shaker, I realized I had some of these on hand and they fit perfectly in the center of the large circle image.

This month's special is called Rock the Block. When you spend $25 on products in the Fall/Winter catalog, you can purchase this set for just $15! It's a $44.90 value!

September Stamp Camp projects

This month, we will be using the new Cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy, from Close To My Heart.

The flowers, tags, card base, overlay, and scallop border were all cut using the AP cartridge. I love how they made the stamp sets fit into many of the shapes on this cartridge!

The next project utilizes the September stamp of the month, Limited Edition.

This is a petal card. Again, I cut the four scallop circles, the flower and the plain circles to make the card with the Cricut cartridge.

A Valentine

I was inspired to make this card after seeing a card that my friend Marla had made using the Stampin' Up heart punch. She was inspired by Valita's Fresh Folds. You can see her site here.

Anyway, I don't have that punch, but I do have my Cricut and the George cartridge, so I was able to make this card. I cut the hearts at 1 1/2".

See the silver heart in the photo? My husband made that for me out of aluminum many years ago when he worked for an aluminum extrusion plant. Isn't it sweet?

Softie Cupcake

This was not my original idea. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I saw it first, but it is a very cute idea, so thank you to the person who inspired me!

This "cupcake" is made from a pair of those really soft socks you can find anywhere this time of year. All you do is layer the two socks together and start rolling from the toe with the heel facing upward. Keep a straight roll at the bottom edge of the sock. Secure with a rubberband and adjust the top to create "icing". Insert a pom pom in the top for the cherry and place in a handmade cupcake cup. (Note: the bottom of the cup is open)

Gift Card Cake

Happy New Year!

I was inspired to make this project by one that I saw on Tracey Mason's site. Hers was larger and more ornate (it was for a wedding gift). I wanted to make one for a teenager's birthday gift.

There is a slit cut into the top two layers that holds a gift card. You can see a better picture of this below. The bottom comes off to hold a small gift item.

I love how it turned out! Hope you enjoy it!

Baby Girl Album Gift

I created this baby album for a friend of mine recently. I used layouts from the new how-to book, Magic. This book teaches you how to make the basic layouts, as I've done here. But it also teaches you how to turn these layouts into "Magic" with hidden slides, journaling, pictures, etc. It's really a great book!

I used the Cherry-O paper pack for the entire album.

The first and last layout in the album are the Charmed layout.
This next layout is called Backstage. I used Blooming Flourishes (CTMH) and Scribbles Alpha (Autumn Leaves) stamps sets on this spread.

The third spread is called Hat Trick. There is a hidden journaling piece behind the brown rectangle. I used Ritzy Ribbon (retired), Spot On Backgrounds, and Just For Girls stamp sets.

The fourth layout is called On With The Show. I used Large Chocolate Alpha, Boutique Borders and Love Is stamp sets.

Next up is Trap Door. Circle of Love and Blooming Flourishes stamp sets.

Then we have Raise the Curtain. Bowl of Cherries and Ritzy Ribbon stamps sets were used on this layout.

The next layout is called One Way Mirror. The only stamp set used on this layout is Precious Alpha.

I made this card a long time ago, but keep forgetting to post it.

I stamped the flowers and then cut them out and cut the petals toward the center to create separate petals. Then I curled them around a pencil to add dimension.

Ruffled Card with CD envelope

The polka dot paper on the ruffles was made by directly rubbing the ink pad on copy paper and then stamping the polka dot image repeatedly until the paper was covered.

I'm making this box that holds a mini "fish tales" album, stringer of paper fish, paper bobbers and "can" of worms tag for my father-in-law for Father's Day. When I finish the other parts, I will post them.

My husband, daughter and father-in-law are on a fishing trip right now and promised to take a lot of pictures! I will also add a t-shirt that says "My grandchildren have me hook, line and sinker"

Ribbon flower and paper pleats

I saw two separate techniques that I really liked and decided to combine them on one card. I made the ribbon flower from directions I found here. It was a bit tricky, but worth the effort!

The paper pleating is very simple: start with a thin strip of patterned paper (2" x desired length) and score it at 3/4", 1", 1 3/4", 2", etc. along the entire length. Then fold the strip in following manner: under, back, over, back, under, back, over, back until the entire strip is pleated. Adhere just the top of the pleated strip to your project, using strong adhesive.
